Choose Kind LibrarIES

Dear Altrusa Richardson

I am so grateful to Altrusa for their commitment to investing invaluable resources into our RISD students, and for helping to ensure that "Every Child, Every Teacher, Every Leader, Every Day" has access to new books that support both their emotional growth and promote an anti-bullying culture.

As Forest Meadow officially transitions to a Middle School model this year and welcomes our inaugural class of 6th grade students, I firmly believe having a Choose Kind Library on our campus will prove to be an incredible support to our students, Teachers, Counselors, and Staff.  Thank you for taking my proposal to Altrusa and for advocating to get the first Choose Kind Library at aN RISD middle school campus approved!

I am excited to review the Forest Meadow Middle School library collection to identify books to add to our new Choose Kind Library.

Thank you again for your efforts!

"I love having Choose Kind books in our library because it gives me the opportunity to provide students with books that can empower them to be kind, confident, and unique people.  Budgets continue to tighten, so having Choose Kind books ensure that our library collections is diverse and current."  Jenell Rosol, Big Springs Elementary.

    Altrusa

Thank YOU so much for the generous donation again this year. I have catalogued the books, labeled them with the Altrusa stickers, and have started reading them to our students this week.  Our principal, Mrs. Martha Enyeart sends a big thanks too!  She asked for the title Schools First Day Of School at the beginning of the school year so she is so very appreciative that this is one of the titles included in your donation.

Altrusa is the best!  Sending thanks and blessings from Sembach, Germany.

Jodi Lynn Benavides, Library Information Specialist, Sembach Elementary School

Hosting a Choose Kind Library in Africa is the Kindness Action Ninja way ...

    Event at Audelia Creek Elementary.

We had our ribbon cutting at their open house- book fair. It was so successful. The librarian Taressa Anderson had a Spanish interpreter there along with the assistant principa. At the book fair parents could buy scholastic books and after check out they were allowed to get a free book They also had students sign up for a raffle. There was a librarian there from city library to sign students for public library cards so they can check out books over the summer. We passed out school supplies bags. After the event the students were given frozen treats. As you can see very well attended & they were super excited about the new library.
